Fujifilm X100VI First Impressions
I’ve been a huge fan of the Fujifilm X100 lineup, first being introduced to it through the latest instalment the X100V - I’ve thoroughly enjoyed using the compact camera over the last two years, travelling all around the world with it. Despite the sheer volume of online popularity that camera had received during such time, I still believe it’s an incredible camera to use for travel, street photography, and my favourite use-case BTS production photography.

The combination of being able to build your own film simulation presets, that are baked in to JPEG images into the camera, enable you to have the mindset of just being able to go out, take photos with little hesitation, produce wonderful images, and even provide the camera to those not too familiar with professional photography, and still get great, consistent results, through a look you’ve defined.
As a result, when the team at CameraPro reached out to provide me with an early look of the new X100VI I was eager to test out the camera, throw some of my favourite recipes at the new kit, and test out some of the new features. Those headline new features include some subtle upgrades, which include the following:
A new 40.2 Megapixel Sensor
Enhanced AI auto-focus, subject detect and tracking
In-built image stabilisation (IBIS)
20+ Film Simulation base presets (including the new Reala Ace, previously exclusively available to the new GFX lineup)
Recording up to 6.2k (at h.265) with F-Log2 now being available at 4K 30 and 4K 60
Also available in three colours (Black, Silver and a new Grey) - I have the Black spec for my review unit
Connection with Frame.io and the New Fuji X app for smartphone connectivity
All else, to my current knowledge, remains the same, including the incredibly well built design of the body of the camera.
